Curriculum

Our well-rounded curriculum of Westwind Kindergarten gives our children both education and a creative, stimulating environment. Bearing in mind that at this age the foundation of a child's whole-person development is laid, we have a well-planned system of teaching according to NCFFS policy, initiate by NEP 2020 and developed by NCERT in 2022. Our pedagogies are entirely child friendly and aims at enhancing affective, cognitive and an over all development of a child. The curriculum according to NCFFS ( National Curriculum Framework of Foundational Stage) includes :

Language Acquisition- Development of literacy skills, phonemes awareness, vocabulary acquisition and usage, comprehension, story narration, decoding, letter, word recognition skills, development of listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills and writing skills, presentation of knowledge and ideas

Numeracy Skills

Number recognition and counting, number usage, spatial sense, Number bonds, patterns formation.

Environmental Acquisition

Children like to explore and are curious, active learners. Our curriculum focuses on providing supportive, accepting and encouraging environment and opportunities that align with the child's abilities. The focus is on providing real-life, sensory and meaningful learning experiences. This includes environmental awareness, understanding of themes/skills with application in day-to-day life.

Holistic Development

Our curriculum provides a comprehensive learning system where the physical, intellectual, social, emotional growth of a child is nurtured. The main objective behind our comprehensive curriculum is to help our children to develop learning skills that last a lifetime. Our curriculum aims at raising confident, independent individuals who become lifelong learners, readers and writers. The school curriculum continues to not only encompass formal academic learning but a wide variety of co-scholastic developmental areas like Music, Art, Craft, Karate, Gymnastics, Yoga, Dance, Kickboxing, Aerobics, Dramatics, various sports and activities. The integral part of our curriculum includes activities and competitions which stimulate a child's intellect and motivate them to sharpen their skills and also nurture their hidden talents. The curriculum is open-ended and the focus is on experiential learning. Our curriculum goal is to provide value-based education with an international outlook.
